Also included is a non riding day of an organized escorted tour and the chance to relax after 4 days riding and recharge the batteries for the final day. Riders are tourists today and our organized escorted tour visits all the places of interest and historical significance of this ancient corner of Ireland, including a visit to Parkes castle(a fourteenth century castle restored by the Irish government)and Yeats grave in Drumcliff. We also organize an optional visit to the famous celtic seaweed baths. There is also time to shop and see the beautiful town of Sligo. All arrivals and departures are on Sunday.

THE RIDING;

We ride for 15 hours over 5 days. The riding is a mix of indoor and outdoor lessons, cross country riding and trail riding through forest trail, mountain paths and on deserted Atlantic beaches. The staff at the centre will do their best to improve your riding ability and at the same time ensure that you experience a little of that famous Irish “craic”.

THE HORSES;

Our horses are Irish hunters, of varying sizes, are easily ridden, and well trained and they are used to the terrain and to having different riders and riders of varying ability each week.

THE RIDERS;

This holiday is suitable for all riders over 18 years old except beginners. Novice riders should take extra lessons in the weeks before their holiday in order to build up their condition. There is a weight restriction of 100 kilo.

THE ACCOMODATION;

The accommodation is on B&B basis at the Glasshouse Hotel in Sligo town. This is a 4 star hotel is the town centre (www.glasshousehotel.ie).
